.257 Weatherby out of a .270 ??
What would it take to convert a Remington 700 .270 to a .257 Weatherby (Or is it possible)? Least expensive path yet efficient.

(barrel, etc…) ?

thanks

Gotcha, thanks...

Is there a way to get faster/flatter without going to a wildcat?

If so what is a recommend path?

Thanks again.

I don't know what you are needing velocity for. But a 25-06 only gives up about 3-4" at 500 yds over a 257 WBY. Your normal group spread will be that much. If you don't reload Wby ammo will be 2-3 times higher.

As usual just my $.02

Yeah, but... while there is not a lotta difference in drop between the 25-06 and 257W, there is much less between the 25-06 and the current chambering. Unless you just gotta have a quarter bore (and I love quarter bores), it doesn't make much sense to turn a perfectly good 270 into a 25-06... Just a thought, the 270 Weatherby is a screamer, and rechambering/bolt face/feed rail work is cheaper than even going 25-06...

Personally I disagree with this statement.....and further the .270 Weatherby is not a real improvement on a .270 Winchester. As a matter of fact there isn't a lot of calibers that are a big improvement on the .270 Winchester.....

What part don't you like vapo? The Weatherby being a screamer or it being cheaper to rechamber??? I agree the 270 is hard to improve on, but I don't think I stated any mistruths...
