Building a .25-35 lever rifle
I have an early Marlin 336 .30/30 with a short magazine and carbine barrel on it that I am halfway tempted to use for a .25-35 rifle project. (I blame that Atkinson guy from Idaho!) Who does a nice job rebarreling Marlins, or Winchesters for that matter? Anyone have a barrel they like for this caliber?

Well, after doing some research, it appears the Wind River tapered octagon, button rifled in .25-35 for lever action rifles is the barrel of choice. Now to find a smith fit it.

Keep us posted with progress and some dirty picture of the results. I have been conspiring to do this a while. I want a long round barrel with half magazine. People in hell want ice water too.
