Don SlaterBarrel band
I have a Gentry barrel band to install. I've made it fit well where I want it affixed.
I used to have them soldered on, but everyone now seems to like epoxy. I still would prefer
a solder job. Brownells make a very good low
temp gunsmithing solder that's bluing safe.
Now here's the question. If I solder the band onto the barrel, will I need to put something in or do anything to the bore at the solder place.
Thanks.
Don

The low temp solder offered by Brownells doesn't approach the temperatures that can produce scale, so you will probably be just fine, but you know, if you are going to use acetylene, sometimes the heat can runaway from you so I might be tempted to run a patch with a little heat stop paste down the bore if for nothing more than piece of mind.
