remember this guy.
Went through the catalog pile today. Frank Mittermeier was in the Bronx, NY, work out of his house. My buddy used to up to pick up tools and stuff from him.

He had a basement so full of old tools you couldn't walk around.

I might be twice as old or half the age of both of you put together ?.

I was in the Mass. area years & Years ago visiting a friend when one day he said lets go too some Estate sales . I'm in tow I said !.
Well that's how I ended up with Several of my old old tools . I even bought a Mechanics tool chest , to my surprise and delight .
I found a complete set of Diamond Chalk Horseshoe Co. Adjustable wrenches in it !. Along with Plumb & Bonny . That Horseshoe Co. later became the Crescent Tool Company .

Bit & Brace ship wright augers Cabinet planes with burned in shop logos some from the 1780's - 1836 Era . They look good hanging in my shop .

I probably have 50 or 60 chisels and gouges that I purchased from him in the late 60's and 70's, also misc. items such as spring stock, screws and silver soldier. Probably a lot of other things too. Frank died probably 20 years ago and his son or son-in-law ran the business for a couple of years then it dissapeared. Always had pretty good stuff. Bill
