Darn back to square one is this normal?
Just got an interesting email from a shop that I had used to install and blue the last couple of rifles I've built.

I have my own wildcat case a blown out 280 that I have used from 243 to 416. Since the 416 appears to be on lifetime loan to a buddy in Alaska I was going to build a 411. I have the reamer and new pilot. In the past I have used one specific case to set all the headspaces. Then fireformed brass and had custom dies made. Unlike the AR series mine are all one of a kind with dies made to match the chamber.

The shop informed me that they would not chamber for a round that didn't have a proper headspace guage nor for a round that they couldn't test fire.

Quess we have done it wrong these past 25yrs.

So now looking for a good price on a blank and will head to local talent.

Any leads as to the best place to pick up a countoured 411 blank?

As usual just my $.02

That's how most wildcats are done. Sounds like they just don't want the business.
