Hi Power Magazine Question.
Other than welding the plunger/button the magazine hits, how do you make Hi Power magazines drop free when you depress the mag release?

If you mean the mag safety,(keeps the gun from firing when the mag is removed) you can remove the trigger from the gun and remove the plunger and spring.

Also tends to make the trigger pull lighter.

But it's involved enough that it might be better to take it to a good gunsmith.

That's pretty much what I just did. I didn't look parts drawings I just assumed (Assumption- the mother of all f@@k ups.) it was part of a linkage not a block pushed out of the way.

You just killed two birds for me. Not so much lightening the pull but smoothing it out where it drags. I was going to polish the mag safety face and mags. Sounds like a ten minute job now. Thanks.

It's been a few years since I did them, but both my HPs have had the mag safeties removed.

This might help...http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=133740

Ain't nothing all that complex about it, just my limited teaching skills. Cool

Looks straight forward, I didn't think taking it out would work. I'll check out the link jut to be sure. Thanks.
