could you help me ID this cocking piece peep

picked up this peep sight. I am a sucker for this kind of junk

I looks like it is a screw on in place of a cocking piece? Does any one have any idea what kind of rifle it is designed to fit. ?

Well now isn't that something! Lord Help me, now I've got to get a first model Newton rifle so I will have something to put it on! Really I wonder if any one would be interested in it. I was going to modify it and us it on a bolt gun of some kind but I surely don't want to mess up a collector's item.

Lord... I've seen a handful of newton rifle brass go for $200 on ebay...
