I have a special project in the works, and I'd like to find a mint, complete, unaltered, un-drilled, un-messed-with German-built 1909 Argentine Mauser rifle as the foundation. I don't want anything with gas pits in the bolt-face, or with a new bolt-handle, either. An action won't due, simply because I don't necessarily trust whoever took the barrel off to have not bent the receiver. I want a complete rifle, and matching numbers would be a big plus.

Anyone have a lead on such a rifle or have one they'd be willing to sell?

Good luck on your quest for that one. You are going to need it. I would reccomend GunsAmerica and similar sites. You could also try some of the Milsurp forums. But dont dare mention you are goiong to cut it up or they will burn you at the stake. They are a little touchy about cutting up rifles over there.

I have 2 rifles in the works on 1909's and cant hardly wait to get them done. They do make one heck of a custom rifle when all finished.

Gunshop near me recently had 4 1909 argis long guns, complete ,$200 apiece. I was looking at them but everyone had bad boltface pitting so I passed.
One of the guys that works there finds military rifles and talks the store owner into buying a patch. they are all gone now
