gnoahhhMiroku Low Wall breech block
Has anyone here altered a Winchester/Miroku Low Wall .22 rimfire breech block to centerfire? How are these configured, with a bushing and firing pin or....?
Contemplating a centerfire conversion and this is the only thing I need to get straight before heading down the rabbit hole.
Thanks.

clowdisRemember the bore is a .223 instead of .224 which is normal for a .22 centerfire. That may cause you some issues with pressure. What caliber are you converting to?

gnoahhhBoring it out to .357, chamber for either .357 Mag or .357 Max.

Jim KobeIf you disassemble it, and you will have to, good luck getting it back together, don't ask me how I know.

Yep on that one Jim! Not sure about how to convert to centerfire or even if it can be done.

Russ GouldYou will need a new extractor as well, obviously. I think you are better off buying a new breech block than trying to bush and redrill, that's always a beeotch. They are a bit tricky to put back together but not as bad as a Makarov. Just get some instructions off the net and follow them carefully.

I just had an original 1885 converted from rim-fire to center-fire, so I don't believe the Miroku would be a dissimilar situation. Conversion of a breech-block is pretty straight forward. Larry Potter of Midway Arms posted a video on YouTube showing how it's done step-by-step.
You might look up Montana Vintage Arms and call them about their breech-blocks for the 1885. They charge far less than half of the price Numrich wants~!!
My original 1885, previously a .25RF is now a CF in .38 Special~!!

dpcdMiroku rifles are Nothing like the original Winchester/Browning design. They are only externally similar. The Miroku was designed by Satan himself and takes 6 hands to reassemble. As JK said, Don't ask me how I know.
Altering the breech block itself is the easy part.

dwcarsI gad a gunsmith in W Virginia convert my original 1885 from RF to CF and reline the barrel to another caliber. He charged me $650 to do the work
