lubbockdaveRe: cost to rebore a 308 to a 358 win??
I guess I need to ask---does this require a simple rechamber? or a full rebore?
looking at z hat if a rechamber is all that is needed-then it is only $105, but a rebore costs $335!
please educate the uneducated!! (me that is)
Thanks

.358My first one cost 155.oo by Dick Nickols ,my second was 175.00 Right now I'm getting ready to send one to Norm John in Neb. I believe it's called Westrivergunworks.com (not sure, but he has an ad in Rifle mag) His charge today is 280. +45.00 chan\mber work and + 20.00 for shipping. He will install a new chrom molly for 320 + bluing and shipping. There are probavly cheaper places but I haven't checked them all. If someone finds a better price let me know as I haven't shipped my rifle yet. I will have a serious operation tomorrow so I'm going to wait and see if I get off the table and recover. You will never be sorry you converted the 88, my only regret was when I sold one.

284WinSounds like a re-bore, as you are changing bullet diameters. Need a bigger hole for a bigger bullet, 308 versus 358.

jeffeossothe total costs will run about the same, including bluing and gunsmithing... with the KNOWN that a rebore can fubat a barrel.
bauska (and others) can duplicate your barrel profile in a new barrel.. then you can return your 88 to 308, should you ever want to

ScrollcutterWhat Jeffe said.
These rifles may one day be worth a lot. Right now, they are sort of under the radar because most everyone is a bolt gun fan. That will change because these are quality rifles.
Rebarrel and keep the original, as is. An easy conversion back to 308.
