UltramanCrossbolt Hardware for SA Rem Stock, help Needed
I have just walked in from the bazillionth hour reshaping, filling, smoothing, sanding, an old original stock off of a Rem SA BDL rifle. Its kind of an old school varmint rifle in 223 that i have done much metal work to and will shoot the stock with auto paint when done.
Problem: After shooting it with primer to shadow any high spots I noticed a crack running lengthwise in that small bridge of wood between the trigger area and the magazine well. I know I have seen brass 'nails' of sort in other older Rem rifles before running side to side beefing up this same area (now i know why) Is there a source for small diam. cross bolts/screws for this problem? I can see drilling it from side to side and installing such with a little epoxy to draw it tight...just dont know a source for the right hardware that would look like it half way belongs there or that I could fill over and hide. Thank you

Glen71I use the threaded brass pins that Brownells sells for repairing cracked stocks. They work very well.
