Tikka Magazine ???
So I will probably want to load longer than allowed with the factory magazine in my Tikka 270WSM. Can I simply get a longer 270 Win length magazine and all be wonderful? I noticed in the pictures on the Beretta website that the feed rails are a tad shorter on the 270 Win magazine.

Have any of you guys "been there done that" yet?

Bolt stop will be fine.

Just thought I'd ask before I jump this time.

Thanks and God Bless, Louis

Nupe.
The 270 Winchester is a much narrower cartridge. The 270 WSM cartridges are to fat to fit in the 270 Winchester magazine.

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

Tikka uses the same magazine for all long actions. Say 270 Win to 338 Mag. They only have 3 different lenghts\sizes for all their calibers.

I have no first hand experience with the Tikka mag. The 338 is .05" larger than the 270 the WSM is another .047" While you can get by with it in a stagger mag I found the wide case hard to get to feed. Isn't their mad a single stack? The cartridge for their middle mag are all in the 3.34" range. Even if the case would fit it you would have a slot of extra length even if you recut the throat. I would THINK

As usual just my $.02

30.06king
I have a Tikka Tx 30.06 and Tikka Tx3 in .300 Win Mag. Magazines for both are exactly the same and interchangeable. My 30.06 reloads only fit the magazine but the rifle shoots brilliantly. When new I couldn't get the .300 WM to shoot worth a damn. The barrels throat was generously long but the magazine restricted any potential to make rounds longer and probably more accurate. I ended up putting another, shorter throated barrel on which corrected the defficiency. It' now a rifle worth taking on the hill.

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

I forgot that the WSM is based on the standard belted magnum. I was thinking the big 416 case. It might work if the feed lips will hold it long enough for them to nose into the chamber.
