stock blanks
Hello all,

I'm curious about getting a custom stock for a rifle. I've never researched this at all, so I really have no idea what all costs are involved, besides the price of the blank. Can someone please point me in the right direction?....as well as give me an idea of prices for the different procedures involved? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

ES

I have a friend with a duplicator. He charges $150 to rough a stock out. He has wood from plain to insane. You can choose this pattern or that pattern and he can inlet it for your action. There is still plenty of work left for you to do at that price. His finished stocks of figured wood with checkering fetch $2,500.00 on up. Hope that helps.

while this may seem a bit much....it's not too far from a normal price.....some a lot more....and a few a bit less.

Before one buys a blank he needs to know what he's getting into....get some quotes from a few guys but make sure you see their work.....

Several very talanted folks post here that do spectacular work.......and well worth the price.
