First time this ever happened to me; I broke a trigger from a Rem Model 7 off at the set screw hole; it was super hard and super thin there. Didn't put much pressure on it either.
Question is, will a standard 700 trigger work, and where can I get one? I do not want to buy a whole new trigger group.
Worked on lots of 700 triggers and they are much stronger.

did you break the little bar with the hole in it or the trigger itself?

I don't have a model 7 to check against. Just off the top off my head I think the only difference between the 7 (Seven) and 700 is the bolt stop release. I have about 50, 700 triggers. I'll give you one for free if you want to eat the shipping and carrier fees I suppose I could get Western Gun Parts to ship you one. I have no export permit.

I lied. I do gots some of those. Same damned thing. Just swap out the bolt stop release.

OOOHHHH !!!! I bet you broke one of these silly cocksuckers. Yes, I think you can use one out of a 700. Remington never did release fire control parts to ANYONE ! Just complete fire control units. You will have to cannibalize a trigger.

I would have thought there would have been hundreds for sale because people are always ripping them out and installing after market jobs. That's how I get them. After I install a trigger I offer them back to the customers and they ask me if I will buy it. I tell them I will throw them away for free but that's all they are gonna get out of them from me! Lot's of times they just toss them on the counter and walk out. So I put them in the box. LOL

One of my customers got a hair up his ass once about 3 years back and decided that he was going to start converting them to triple leavers. I gave him 10 for free to play with and if he could convert them he was to give me 3 working 3 leavers back. Mumbling, swearing and pouting he brought me back 10, 3 leaver triggers that he couldn't make work. I fucked with them for 5 minutes and threw them in the trash.

I'll just weld it back together and get rid of that screw.

I’ve seen a bunch of those triggers broken off. Bad design with a useless “adjustment” screw.

Well, that depends on who adjusts the trigger before the adjustment screw is set. Remington stipulates that any trigger leaving a service center is set to at least 4 lbs but not lower. At our service center we adjust to as close to 4 lbs as possible, then screw in the adjustment screw to under 5 lbs. So the consumer gets a trigger that they can adjust to within 2 oz of 4 lbs. If they want it lower than that it is their own responsibility.

Had the same happening about a year or so back. Was going to send it to a warranty station for repair and/or replacement. However, they told me they had no Model 7 pieces/parts/triggers on hand and also told me that Remington told them they didn't have any Model 7 pieces/parts/triggers on hand and didn't know when they would. Talk about a crock of shit. I replaced the POS Model 7 trigger with a Rifle Basix. Problem solved.

Well we are a service center and have bags full of M7 triggers on hand. Don't know why you were told that. Maybe there was a shortage then.

I'm pretty sure all one has to do is swap out the bolt stop release and a 700 X Mark Pro trigger will work.

The Rem X Mark trigger groups are MIM'd JUNK.

Replace it w/ a Jewell or a Trigger Tech.

No, no need for anything fancy on a 350 Rem Mag with an 18 inch barrel, on the Model 7. Its not a bench rest gun; all the trigger needs to do is release the sear with less than 8 pounds of pull.

Option #2-
install a pre 2006 Walker design 700 trigger group w/ Model Seven bolt release,if a Jewell HVR "X" isn't in the equation.

The Canadian Trigger Tech trigger groups repeat quite well.....for the cost but,I haven't seen a Model Seven bolt release option....yet.

You don't understand; I ain't spending any money on this; the factory trigger will be fine after I install the new trigger piece. I will be more careful with this one.

All I know is you gatcha self one hell of a flinch!!
