Vol717Source for Mauser military style action locking screws
I need about a half dozen locking screws and two front and two back action screws. Is there a source for new ones?

BobsterSarco and Numrich carry them. Do you have FN bottom metal or another make? FN metal uses a different (smaller) thread for the lock screws. You'll have to make those yourself from standard screws.

Vol717FN actions on 146 Husqvarna. Anyone know the thread size?

Vol717Forster tells me that the thread size of the locking screws they sell is metric .6 x .236. Is that the same as the FN? I didn't know it but the dimensions of the heads on the front and rear locking screws are different. The front screw head had parallel sides and the rear has a 60 degree taper. I never noticed!

BobsterI made mine by taking a stnd M98 locking screw and re-threading it. First you have to anneal the screw. Then chuck the head in a drill and reduce the OD of the threaded shank to 3 mm from 3.5 mm with a file. If needed, reduce the head diameter to fit the guard. Thread with a 3mm-.6 Metric die. Re-harden. The rear lock screw has a 60 degree cut because it sits 60 degrees off the rear action screw. I have three of these dies. If interested in one PM me.

Fal GruntFN used 1/8-40 BSW for their locking screws.
Standard screws are 3.5 x 42tpi BSW
