Savage Action Screws
I'm in the process of fitting a B&C DuraMaxx stock to my 110 FP, and ran into a snag - the factory front action screw is too short. Not having the convenience of any specialty fastener shops in my area, does anyone know where I can find one of these in a longer length? While searching various sites in the web, I read that the action screws for wood stocks were longer. Is this true, and how much longer? I need about .180" more.

Thanks,
Boom

Midway USA, Brownell's, or Savage. One of the three should have what you need.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

I just might have a set, but they're stainless. Do you have a measurement?

Thanks tj. I've checked out Brownells and Midway. They both stock the screws, but do not list any dimensions for them. I don't want to re-order what I already have.

I do RL. The one I have is 1.065" from inside of head flange to end. Anything with less than .875" of shank and 1.25" + from inner head flange to end would work great.

Thanks to a great guy on this forum, I've finally finished assembly on my latest coyote gun. Rub Line, (who didn't know me from Adam) took the time and expense to send me a set of action screws - accepting nothing in return. It's good to know there are people like him still around. I hope I can return the favor some time.
Thanks again, RL.

Nice looking rifle, possibly one of the best looking Savages I've seen. Thanks for the kind words, as well. Hopefully our paths will cross again sometime.

As you can see, I refrained from "blacking out" those stainless screws... In your honor. LOL

They are the same diameter and pitch as R700 screws which are easily obtainable in factory or long lengths. I actually just used a set on a Savage 210. They are usually long enough you will end up cutting/grinding and chasing them though.

You can buy them in any fastner store. They are 1/4-28UNF button head screws.
