Who would like to see a show along the lines of "American Chopper" or "American Hotrod"?
From the start to the finish of a custom project and maybe a test of the rifle on a hunt?
Without the deadlines but with some curmudgeonly old gunsmith maybe.
On oln or a channel like that.

TC1WITHOUT DEADLINES! The show would be 30-60mins a week of a rifle that sit's in a dark corner. I'm sorry but I'm living it. I damn sure don't want to watch it on TV!

Dago RedOh I don't know, I think you guys are looking at it wrong. If you got one done by say Thos. Burgess, Jerry Fisher, Jim Wisner. A custom that took a lot of work that most guys can't do. Say integral bases, custom bottom metal, how about if Fisher does it go through the stock fitting and design process. How he creates the cast off at heel and toe (did I get those right?). I would love this kind of show. It would take a lot more episodes than american chopper to complete the project, but would be great. How about getting the bluing process, that type of thing. Then they could do like when Tuttle sends a bike to paint, follow the metal over to Roger Kehr or somebody to watch the inlay of my initials.
I have thought about this a lot and don't know why they don't do this on a sporting channel. I can only watch a guy in camo hunt deer from a treestand with a bow so many times (usually 1/2 a time) before getting bored with it.

Paul HI think it would be a great idea. The only problem is, I'd bet the discovery management is too left leaning, and the bubba outdoors channels do such mickey mouse productions that it would be incredibly boring, ie, "Say uh, whaats dat a reamer thingy for, I think the viewers back home might be interested in it."

GSP7You have to find a gunsmith that had his son doing all the work. And like Orange county chopper, The father gunsmith would have to yell at the son the whole time he is working on it .

RopesAmerican Shooter might be interested in covering such a show. . And OLN / History channel or Discovery often cover firearms, though they are usually military versions..

GrandViewBad idea. The entertainment value of the two "American" shows mentioned above lies in the interaction of the various buffoons in their "creative" processes. It gets old real quick.
Can't imagine an entertainment formula that I'd like less to see involved in the gun business.
