BIG SAMLever action gunsmiths?
Who are the 'smiths' that do the best work on lever action Marlins?
Thanks,
Sam

buckeyeshooterI had Doug Turnbull Restoration do the conversion of a Marlin 1895 Cowboy from 45/70 to 50 Alaskan. They completed the work in the timeframe quoted, did exceptionally good work, did it the way I specified and were a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them for any work you might want done on a lever action.
You can take a look at the work on the website.

MolonLabe416I can also recommend Jim Brockman for a working rifle, both lever and bolt.
M.L. McPherson is also noted for his accuracy work with lever guns.

AtkinsonI sure do like Jim Brockmans work, that's who I'd use if I wanted a Marlin worked on...

DPhillipsIf it's a Marlin, depending on what you want done, there's Wild West Guns in Anchorage, Jim West's outfit. He's done some really interesting things with the Marlins.
If you are looking for Winchester 1895 or Browning BLR's, take a look at Z-Hat, Fred Zeglin's outfit.

wiktorI sent a Marlin 1894 to Coyote Cap to have an action job and other work done to it. He's had it for a while, I know he's been really busy. From what I have heard, he is one of the best. I'll let you know how it is when I get it back.
