A Winchester Prewar Perfect Pair
Well it's not winter here yet in Minnesota but the Captain and I were talking smart and I thought I'd take some pictures. Both prewar Winchesters, the Super Grade being a 300 Magnum and the standard a 375 Magnum. Super Grades are hard to come by, especially the early ones but the 375 has the 24" heavy, straight taper barrel which is fairly rare too. I like to think both of these spent some time in Africa with their classic Lymans 48s. They sure did make a fine rifle. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

There's something about the MAGNIFICENT lines of those older rifles with the Lyman sights that makes me smile.. No scopes, just great lines.
Your rifles are HI CLASS.. I like seeing the battle scars too...
Thanks for the posting.

Those are pretty cool.

I have a couple transitional in both the H&Hs. The 375 has a straight taper like yours. But it doesn't have the dovetail or band for the rear site. The original owner must have ordered it special and known it was going to be wearing a Lyman.

I love 'em. Scars and all, or maybe especially because of the scars. Great old rifles.

A friend has 375 just like that one. When we were in South Africa in July he met a friend of our pH who's father had the littermate. We pulled them out and compared.
Nice rifles! All business!
