<Mato Hunter>Shortening the bbl. of a S&W revolver.
I am in search of a gunsmith that specializes in Smith revolver work to shorten the bbl. of a six inch .22 ss revolver to 3 inches while retaining the factory ejector rod etc. The finished bbl. would look like the 3 inch model 60 S&W and would require the re-installation of the front sight. Smith & Wesson custom shop could not do it. Any suggestions. Pictures of custom work would be appreciated. Also can the model 60 2 inch, which has fixed sights, be converted to adjustable sights with a pinned blade front sight. The objective is to allow for the installation of night sights and not for precision target shooting.

MingbogoHere are two revolver master gunsmiths. You may want to check them out and talk to them. I have had custom revolvers built by both of them and have been real pleased with their work. These are top notch gunsmiths in the sixgun circle to say the least. Good luck.

<Buliwyf>Mato Hunter:
Not sure your whereabouts in the Great State of Texas, but there is a brilliant gunsmith, who is one of the world's great craftsmen and artisans, in Houston. His name is Eddie Jimenea. I don't have his number, but the gunshops should know how to get a hold of him. He is the person to do it perfectly!
Best regards,

<JBelk>I did a couple of M-25 S&Ws into 3 1/2 inch round butt belly guns thirty years ago......and not over it yet. I don't want the job.
