jsl3170Cerakote finish
Gents:
When someone uses something like Cerakote on a rifle as a finish, does it cover thinly or thickly? In other words, does anyone know what the thickness of the material is? And is it best to start with bare metal or can it be done over already blued metal?

TC1It's very thin. You'll need to sand blast and degrease the metal. You'll also need to build a oven big enough to cook the barreled action. I used a double wall vent pipe, a hotplate and thermastat made for a BBQ grill.

richjIs Cerakote much different than Guncoat which I think used to be called Kalguard. I have a Chris Reeves knife that is Kalguard-ed.
