Others welcome too, but I know Jim has the answer. How do you modify the chapman safety to eliminate the bolt lock feature? Do you just cut down the plunger or is it more technical?

Just got back to town; been fishing in Canada.

I would just shorten the plunger on the end where the spring goes in, not the solid end.

Thanks, that's what I thought, it just seemed too simple. How was the fishing?

It was a catch and release area, the English river about 75 miles north of Kenora. Fishing was great and we could keep two fish each for shore lunch; had to be under 18 inches. Biggest Walley I caught was 26 1/2", biggest Northern was 45" and that one was the money fish.

I caught this one about 75 miles from there to the northeast.....It was 43 1/4 and that too was a money fish.....the Crown Royal always tastes best when bought with the cash from the money fish!

That is enough. Time to put away the rifles and dust off the reels.
