Broken Talley Ring-Mount !!
Anybody ever seen one break? I grabbed my .375 H&H from the safe to take a measurement on ring spacing and WTF....The right side of the front ring is cracked all the way through. Digital camera is down, pics taken with phone sent to Jeffe. Hopefully he will post for me. I have never seen this happen before.

This is the Light Weight Aluminum Ring Mount. Since this install I had fired less than 200rounds. Looks like it is time to go back to steel mounts!

Heard people say they break but never seen it myself and I've used nothing but Talley (steel and aluminum) for about 15 years; some of them on big guns. Call Garry and tell him what happened. They have good customer service.

Man, I'm shocked! I don't have the Talley aluminums on any of my rifles, but I do have a set sitting around waiting to be put to use.

For years I have rolled my eyes each time I hear someone say that the aluminums are not tough enough.

I am looking forward to seeing the photos.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

I broke one about three years ago and the company replaced it within a week.
Sometimes there is just a weak piece of metal that slips through. I had a shell holder snap the top of the "ring" where the shell goes clean around.
