I know the Huskies are not really favored on this forum, although Ray, I believe, may have a small place in his heart for them. I just bought a M-96 sporter in 9.3x57. I understand these rifles were also sold in 9.3x62 and have seen several rechambered to 30/06. Is there reason that I should not rechamber to 9.3x62 from a safety standpoint? I reload and can keep the loads on the soft side. Dies and brass seem to be more readily available for the 62. Thanks, Bob

I have Huskies in both 9.3 X 57 and 9.3 X 62. The 57 is on a 96 action, and the 62 is on a 98 action. As they chambered the 96 in 9.3 X 62, and they never differentiated between either action for reloads, you're probably safe. Considering the rarity factor (at least on this side of the pond) I would just buy the proper dies and brass and go from there. The 9.3 X57 is a very under rated cartridge. FWIW - Dan

Thanks Dan. I already have a 9.3x64, a rechambered CZ, and was thinkin' about trying my hand at cast loads with the Husky. What do you think? The 57 a good round for cast loads? Have you converted one of Swedes to cock on opening? Requires machining? Thanks again, Bob
