I have a Firestar 45 with the Starvel finish...well it had the Starvel finish, but after around 15 years of constant carry it has started to disappear!

I have contacted several different "refinishers" on the internet, and they have no idea what the Starvel finish is...

Do any of you guys know of an outfit that definately does this type of refinishing?

Well I'm not exactly sure but I thought the Starvel finish was electroless nickle. It seems that I read that somewhere long ago, but lately my old timers disease has been kicking in so I may be wrong.

Starvel was just nickle plating.

Actually, according to Star, the Starvel was a tenifer finish.
