Put the appropriate size bore brush on your cleaning rod and insert into the rifle's chamber from the breech until it reaches the beginning of the rifling.

Put a piece of adhesive tape on the rod where it enters the back of the action.

Make a witness mark on the rod and the handle.

Push the rod into the bore until the witness marks line up again.

Put another piece of adhesive tape on the rod where it enters the back of the action.

Measure the distance between the front edges of the two pieces of tape. That should be your twist rate.

One easy way is to carefully run a cleaning rod down the barrel with a tight fitting patch from the muzzle. When you're near the chamber, stop and make a mark on your cleaning rod with a marker where it meets the muzzle. Then pull the rod back out the muzzle until the mark has made one full revolution. Make another mark on the rod at the muzzle. Measure the distance between the marks for your twist rate.

Hope this helps
