what to do with a turk small ring barrel
Heh...

I took a 1903 turk smallring., cut it off about 6", and made a case expansion mandrel from it.. it'll screw into my 500 jeffe neck sizing die, and the taper is 10degrees.. and will open up 416 weatherby to 550 !!!!

i thought this was the second best thing you can do with a smalring 8mm turk barrel... first best thing is a ma'ter stake

I use my small ring Turk 8mm barrels to launch cheap surplus Turk 154gr ammo to 3000fps speeds from the long 29" barrel's!

Billy,
my wife says "no he DOESNT"...

major, I have a 30-06 (yeah, i admitted it) to launch milsurp stuff.. I bought these actions, oh, 10 years ago, for like 20 bucks each, barreled actions.... and hadn't ever thought about actually using those barrels... i thought i'ld dothe remiturk thing, with cutting down a rem barrel, etc....

now, i HAVE thought about picking up all the 8mauser cases i can find, resize them without a deprimer, fill them with lead and use them as cheap jacketed bullets for mike's 470 mbogo (just kidding)

I bought one of the Big-5 Turk 8mm's and did a home sporter job on it. The barrel is rather worn and wouldn't shoot Speer 150's worth S**^! I switched to Speer 170's and now it will shoot in the .8" range. It's my loner gun. I'm into it for about $125 includeing Bushnell scope.
