Frank Martinez458 Lott trigger
Any suggestions on putting a new trigger on a 1917 Winchester in 458 Lott. It still has the military trigger @ 7.5 lbs. I think I need one with adjustments.
Also looking for anyone who may have altered or improved the safety. Thanks.
Frank

Timney has a very good trigger for the M1917 Enfield. Check Brownells.

Frank MartinezThanks guys, I have used Timney before and been very happy. I was just hoping someone had tried something new.
I saw the Dayton in the Brownells catalog. It is the one suggested when changing from Cock -on -closing to the cock -on -opening. My gunsmith suggested I leave the '17 as is in that regard because it has such an incredible "camming" action that in a pinch or with a shell that might be too tight the as-is action would actually be strong enough to drive the cartridge home.
I think maybe I will stick with the trigger I already know and put in the Timney.
What about altering the big saftey knob? Anyone do anything with that?
Thanks again,
Frank
