Rem 1100 interceptor stud repair
I have a customers Remington 1100 that has a broken interceptor stud. I have the broken stud and the interceptor latch. I was wondering if any of the gunsmiths out there had ever replaced one of these? the customer wouldn't mind if there was an external screw head holding the stud in place. the replacement studs don,t seen to have a stud to solder into the internal hole. I want to fix this before deer season as this is his wife's deer gun. All help will be gratefully appreciated.......Tom

Send it back to Remington. If that stud is not PERFECTLY and CORRECTLY installed
the gun will not cycle correctly.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Back when I was working for Remington, I used to just give the guy a new receiver and bill Remington for it. I did quite a few over a period of 15 years and Remington never once complained. I always got paid. I do know that Dave Kiff sells a jig to locate and install them. But I have never attempted to do it myself.

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!
