Does anyone have any experience with these. I am considering putting one on my Ruger M77 II. They apparently have some type of special grip on them. I would appreciate any opinions on their durablility, what they do to the accuracy of the rifle, and those special grips.

Russ BrumbelowI have one coming in tomorrow for my remington 700. Its the overmolded, pillar bedded model. As soon as I make it to the range I will let you know what the difference is.

The 458 & 376 I built on vz-24 mausers. the 458 is in the full aluminum bedding block the 376 is the pillar model. Both dropped right in. I had to inlet a spot for the side safety trigger on the 458.

Russ BrumbelowStevie, I just got off work this morning and my new stock was waiting on me. It is a tight (good in my opinion) fit around the action and recoil lug and I didnt have to adjust the recoil lug like the directions say (for remington only). I like the way it feels. The only complaint that I would have and its not that bad is that the opening on the ejection side is cut for universal fit for a long action. It doesnt bother me because it clears that little hole at the locking lugs for easier cleaning. It is heavier that factory which I also like. Pillar alignment is right on. I cant wait to get to the range this weekend.

GA DEER HUNTERI have one on my Ruger M77. It is more of a rubbery type grip than a synthetic. It seems it is easier to hold on to and will not slip. I think it will be espicially easy to hold onto if it gets wet.

Russ BrumbelowThe more I look at it the more I like it. I just hope it is at least as accurate as the factory job.

flutedchamberI have one for my 10/22. The stock is the overmold type. Fit and finish are great, and I love the "grip" of the overmold. Accuracy is also excellent.

lobogaI spent a bit of time in the Hogue booth at the SHOT show. They showed me a cutaway of the full length bedding block version and the bedding block itself. Its a very big and complicated piece of machining. It really emcompasses the entire forend, but in a skeletonized fashion.
I was very impressed.

Russ BrumbelowI went to the range today. I tried a load that was known to be great in the same rifle with the factory stock. Now it looks like I gotta work up the load again. However, it did shoot a .5" 5shot group with 47 gr. of Ramshot Big Game and 140 nosler Accubond. The previous load it like was the same powder and charge behind a 145 gr. Speer hot core. Now it doesnt like em at all. 2" 5 shot. Maybe I can get that load tuned in again.

Russ BrumbelowStevie,
I went to the range again and played with seating depths with my 7mm-08. That Hoghue overmolded stock is sweet. Groups sizes are back where they were. Consistency didnt change I still have to let the barrel cool completely down after two shot to put 4 or 5 into a ragged hole but the stock is a whole lot more comfortable that the factory POS.
