Adjusting trigger pull on double
I need to lighten the trigger pull on a double (Heym). Is there on this forum a competent gunsmith, knowledgeable in double rifles, who would be kind enough to give me some technical information?

Replies to the tune "I don't know, but if I were you I wouldn't try it" are as useful as non-alcoholic beer or decaffeinated coffee, thanks. Just saying so because that's all I got from other forums... Big Grin

You "lighten" the trigger pull in one of two ways. You cut springs to reduce friction between the parts, or, reshape the sear angles. In a dangerous Game setting, either one can get someone killed if done incorrectly.

Either the reduced spring tension will produce a weak pin strike potentially causing a missfire, or, the second barrel sear will slip from the recoil of the first shot causing both barrels to fire. Which failure would you prefer?

If you are dead set on doing the job yourself, PM me your email address and we'll talk about the technical aspects.

This is a job for a very competent gunsmith. A few swipes too many and your either welding or buying new parts.
