x-51Mossberg Rifle
Does Mossberg currently make their own centerfire rifle or is it made by someone else?

cliffs2It's a HOWA 1500. Howa also makes the Weatherby Vanguard, also a HOWA 1500, there is another one too, either Colt or S&w, not sure which.

CompIllitR8Walmart has a Mossberg AT100. (I think that's the model.) It comes in 30-06, 270, and one other caliber I think. They are very inexpensive. You can check out the Mossberg site and see if they have any info.

willmckeei've only looked at them in passing at wallyworld but i don't think the new mossbergs are howa's. i believe that relationship ended quite some years back.

James C ScottBack some time ago, Mossberg did market a Howa actioned rifle. But, I looked at an ATR100 last fall and they are not the same as the Howa 1500.
The first thing that stands out is what appears to be a barrel nut in front of the receiver ring. Don't know if that's what it is (it's smooth and tapered.). May have to go take a closer look as now I'm curious. Mossbergs' web site says made in USA.

This is my impression too....they look a little like the Howa but I don't believe it is.

260remguyThe Mossberg ATR appears to be the most recent incarnation of the Raptor. Mossberg did market a Howa 1500 some years ago, after their failures with the 800 short action series, 810 long action series, and the RM7. The Mossberg Howas look, to me, exactly like the Smith & Wesson Howas.
