Help Need a Flat Spring!!!
Hi All,

I have a Stevens model 44 22LR in fairly good condition except for the main hammer spring. Someone tried to convert it to a coil spring hammer and did a terrible job. Luckily they did not remove the spring screw or other wise damage the hammer or the lower tang.

Where can I get a spring for this rifle? Does anyone have a main spring they are willing to sell?

Thanks for your attention,

Marcos

You might check Brownells.
I bought an assortment of "flat" springs in the 80's that I modified and used to repair a few old muzzleloaders and shotguns. I don't know if they still carry the assortment, and they may even sell singles.

Numrich Arms / GunPartsCorp might even have the right one.

Check www.gunpartsspecialist.com

We make lots of mainsprings for many rifles, including Stevens.

Unless I missed it they did NOT even list the 44 in the Gun Parts Corp catalog.
This is why it is IMPORTANT to maintain some true metalsmith/gunsmiths out there.

It will only get worse!
