need good GI barrel for 1917 Enfield
Does anybody have or know of a source for a good original barrel that could be reinstalled on a 1917 Enfield. Original barrel is Eddystone 9-18.
Are take-off barrels usable, or does the relief cut ruin them? thanks

GunParts had a bunch of these barrels a while back, check with them. - Dan

When you pull a barrel of a Eddystone '17,it is a good idea to magnaflux the receiver, the threads are tight and some receivers are brittle from the heat treating.Winchester and Remington '17s are OK.

Just to be safe, you should cut a relief in your barrel prior to its removal.

Good original barrels are rare and expensive. The Numrich ones are repros and do not have the spline cut. To re-install a barrel that has a relief cut you need to make a washer.
