Ruger heavy barrel in ....280?

I've been talking to a fellow who has a line on a few rifles for sale, one being a Ruger M77 heavy barrel in 280 Rem caliber. Now that's gotta be an oddity.He didn't know but I'm guessing that it's a tang safety model.Would it have a 26" barrel? I'm pretty interested in this one.

My model is a M-77V (tang safety)in 25-06. It has a heavy varmit contoured barrel 24". Probably the same model.

my so to be son-n-law has one it's a tang safty with 24" barrel, must be one of the barrels ruger subed out because it shoots way to good to be a Ruger barrel. it's pre warning stamped Ruger - 280
