Still getting my project going. The trigger on my Rem 600 is light enough but has a bit of creep. Can a smith eliminate or reduce the creep on a Rem 600? Or is is not adjustable??? The local smith I go to for some things did not even take it out of the stock and said it was not adjustable.

Anyone know for sure?

AFAIK, Rem 600 triggers aren't adjustable - but I could be wrong.

Best thing to do is write it off get rid of it, and send it to me - I can handle 'creepy triggers'....

Check the manufacture date of your M/600 for recall info...

Remington conducted a "special safety audit" on 615 new rifles gathered from wholesalers in various demographic areas through out the country and concluded a 55.9% failure rate of the fire control in 1975 as where through manipulation of the safety and trigger could "Trick" the fire control to produce inadvertent discharge.

If the M/600 you have falls with in the date of the effected rifles and has been recalled and retrofitted with a new "M/700 style fire control" there would be a "V" stamped on the side of the trigger bow, the new style would be riveted side plate housing instead of the folded sheetmetal housing.

My words of wisdom to you is watch what you wish for, it may come true, and eventually you will find someone to adjust your fire control....

Yes, the previous concept has the 3 adjustment screws!

This particular gun has been TOTALLY customized. The saftey is a custom trigger guard with a "trigger stop" safety. The saftey is behind the trigger and pushed one way the trigger will not move and the other, it will fire.



Are there any aftermarket triggers? 700's will not work???

I think that Rifle Basix makes a replacement trigger for the M600. Maybe they make more than one, a standard model and a target model. Try Brownells for info on what is available, they have a web site.
The 700 trigger will work but the trigger shoe is in the wrong place and the stock/trigger guard will not work. Some folks swap out the trigger for a 700 but also use a 700 bolt handle and use a stock made for a Model 7. There are more small modifications required for this swap.

I have a New Rifle Basix trigger in front of me that you might be interested in, I bought it a few months ago and never got around to changing it. It is fully adjustable and has .500" safety spacing.

There is a different bolt already in this gun....or at least a different bolt handle. The there is no "dogleg" bolt. How could I tell if it is a 700???



There are pics somewhere on this forum. Maybe i will take a close-up of the bolt and trigger tonight.
