Black Walnut Stock for a Classic Oberndorf Mauser Sporter?
Is this sacriledge?

I found a bargain semi-inleted black walnut "Classic Oberndorf" stock for my VZ500.

Of the folowing 2 options which would be more appropriate?

Both options would have Neidner steel buttplate & gripcap, barrel band front sling swivel stud & 2-screw rear swivel base stud boat.Which would be more appropriate?Since the action has a swept back (Harris) bolt handle I may just rasp off the raised side panels, cut off the scnabel & add an ebony fore-end tip.If the black walnut isn't totaly out of place I may bend the bolt handle into a more apropriate stright profile & stay W/the Classic Oberndorf style.

I believ e it will make a neat piece in Classic. I wouldnt even bother with the bolt as long as it functioned. Personally I like the bolt as close to the trigger as possible.

These are not a good pictures, bad lighting.

Here is what the bolt handle looks like.

Note the lever type floorplate release.
