Ruger mkII standard, will ultra lite stock fit?

I have a ruger mkII standard in 7mm Rem Mag, and was thinking of putting the barrel on a diet and put this puppy in an ultra lite stock to see if i can get the weight to around 6.5 pounds before scope,

Question is...will it fit in the ultra lite stock.

The long actions would be the same. Re-taper the barrel or remove stock material and it should fit.

I went through the same thought process several months ago trying to lighten up my Ruger. I crunched the numbers and a new rifle was my answer. A Tikka T3, 300win 6lbs 4oz. with rings, an 11oz scope and I have a lite wt,rifle. I put a kick-eez pad on it and it is a pleasure to shoot and it is MOA as advertised.

I agree with Elkman2 on this one. If you really want a light rifle.I would think you would be money ahead to buy a new rifle.
