Remove White Spacers?

I started a thread about removing the white spacers in my 512 Kids Shooting Instruction Rifle. <a href="https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9411043/m/9161015081" target="_blank">http://forums.accuratereloadin...9411043/m/9161015081</a> Many expressed the opinion that I should leave it as is. Wow, as time goes on the "leave it alone" option is gaining favor.

Because of its history and the flawless workmanship I voted to leave it as-is. Having said that, I think the white spacers are horrid(i hate all white-line spacers and those are like white-line spacers on steroids).

As I said, I do admire your work.

I would have some sort of leather cover made for the butt.

I tghink I'll go ahead & finish it as is. It would be nice if the white toned down to an ivory hue.

The water based stain I use doesn't penetrate the plastic though.
