CAUTION

The picture posted above of the "300 Magnum" insciption on the barrel is not the same as mine.

I have a 1962 M70 in 300 H&H and the barrel is marked

-M70-300 H&H MAGNUM-

and it's not polished over at that spot either.

On the other hand Rules book shows prewar magnums marked "300 MAGNUM" and also the 375 H&H as "375 MAGNUM".

My thought at this moment is that the rifle looks good and the pad is nice at that price. I would bid $570 and more.

I believe in 1948 the .300 H&H was the only .300 Magnum offered.

I have a friend who has a Super Grade, pre-64, 300 H&H in 99% conditioned. The rifle is immaculate. I've handled this rifle, and was told I could buy it, but then I would have wanted to set it up for hunting, so I didn't. If you are interested, I can get ahold of him and ask if he still has the rifle. He lives in Alaska.

Gents:

Chuck is right I am lefthanded, the gun in question is also a LH. The idea was to compliment the LH S.E.
I have 2 BRNO's in RH and I like the guns very much but shooting LH with a RH gun takes seconds to shooting a LH rifle
The 2 Winchesters I now have are nice enough but I don't like the way the extractor gives way when one squeezes the back end of the extractor (unlike the Mausers) I don't know if the pre 64's are also like this ??

Savage: thanks for the pic. a friend has one and they are nice.
JB; thanks for the offer but LH.
Customstox:I think I know what you mean,I have a few rifle's but only this one and a 308 Savage shot this good right out of the box.

Regards Martin
