citori3M70 Ranger Stock
I have a M70 Ranger (push feed) with the hinged floorplate that I'd like to restock with a "drop in". Winchester tells me that any stock that fits the featherweight barrel contour will work. Can anyone confirm this?

TC1YES, I have done this. I had a Winchester Ranger in .308 (ugly birch stock) and found a new CRF feather weight take off stock on ebay. The barrel contours were exactly the same and it was a "drop in". I glassed it in and it was ready to go. It turned to be a pretty neat looking gun, A push-feed feather weight with iron sights. Terry

Middle Age Fat Manthat correct. McMillan made a stock for winchester featherweights that will fit your rifle like a glove. I had my .270 dropped into the McMillan stock for a lightweight sheep hunting rifle and it shoots under an inch at 100 yards. Poor man's featherweight indeed.
