CZ plug screws?
CZ plug screws?
I removed the rear sight from my CZ550FS. I don't know what size/thread plug screws I will need to plug the holes. Anyone know the size and where to get them? I E-mailed CZ-USA and they didn't reply, Thanks.

Jesus Christ. Sorry for the bum steer.

kcstottThe hardware store isn't gonna have any gun screw thread sizes.
It's a long way of doing it but you could send the screw that held the sight dow to me I'll ID it and send it back. Or you could find someone out that way to do the same thing for ya.
Or for a few bucks Brownells sells a screw ID/ grinding fixture. Its like $8

I sent them an email with a link to this thread in it- maybe someone over there will wake the FU.
That phone conversation was inexcusable.
CZ frequently uses relatively scarce metric threads. As an example try to find grip screws for their pistols. But I would guess CZ USA could answer your question directly, no?

The guy on the phone was polite at least. But, It doesn't instill consumer confidence when they can't answer questions about what they sell>

You know, this could have been resolved by now with half the effort by just getting or borrowing a thread gage. Most machine shops have at least a couple lying around.
I doubt if most parts centers can tell you much more about the part than its availability and part number. It's not at all unexpected to hear that they don't know the dimensions of the replacement parts.
For grins, call winchester or Browning and ask them to tell you the screw size or thread pitch used on one of their rifles. Doubt they can do it.
Aut vincere aut mori
Had to run down to the the city yesterday and the guy in the machine shop said that the screws from the sight are 4-48.

kcstottMcmaster Carr has SHCS and set screws in 4-48. Granted not plug screw but material to start with.
I'd order some extra long ones have them cut down and slotted. They would need to be blued.
How many do you need I'll look through my junk pile and see what I have on hand I may have what you need.

kcstottJust looked. Sorry no dice. But tell me roughly how long you need them I could get the screw shorten them and slot them for a screwdriver. You would have to cold blue them
Thing is a 4-48 is very close to a M3X.5mm being a CZ I would bet it's metric
