To heck with all this termite food!
We need some diversity in this crowd.

Here's a project that I just finished after two and a half years. About three years ago I let a friend talk me out of my personal 300 Weatherby, and finally got around to finishing up it's replacement. It will be much tougher for that scoundrel to talk me out of this one.

It started life as a Winchester Model 70 7mm STW, and now sports a Mike Rock barrel in 300 Weatherby Mag.

Blackburn bottom metal, a checkered bolt handle and custom Talley bases are just a couple of the special touches that round out the package.

Ready to hunt in the Brown Precision stock, it tips the scales at 8lbs 3oz.

Everything is coated in Graphite Black Cerakote.

I'm a wood guy myself but can appreciate it for what it is. Who did the bases?

Nice rifle.

Looks like a great bit of kit. Must admit, there are times I'm looking around for a place to put down my wood-stocked rifles that isn't going to mark them up. It's times like those I think a nice synthetic would be great.

Very nice rifle indeed!
The metal work and lines of that rifle are very good, and very tastful.
But as far as the stock goes, I don't really care for the figure in it... Wink

Steve Yamagishi built the bases, and I did everything else (with a little help from a buddy welding the bolt handle).

Thanks. I've just been raising kids, working, and working. With three businesses going right now, I don't have time for much fun stuff.

Stu C, get one of these, assuming you have a metal surface at hand: A magnetic clip into which to place your rifle when out plinking. From E. Arthur Brown and Company. Just ten bucks...

They were actually built right on the action. Steve can probably fill you in better. He told me about how he made them, and it sure sounded like a lot of work.
