Toomany ToolsMauser Feed Rail Drawings?
Does anyone know a source for drawings showing how to modify a Mauser's feed rails to feed various cartridges?
I'm mounting a 22-250 barrel on a bowed-rail VZ-24 action and don't want to ruin the receiver by doing it wrong.
Thanks

<JBelk>Toomany tools---
You don't have to alter them for a 22-250. Just block the magazine until the shoulder of the cartridge matches the shoulder cam of the original rails.
Piece of cake.

MingbogoJack,
By blocking, is this mean adding shims/spacers inside the magazine box. Thanks.

I folded sheetmetal spacer is soldered or rivited (or epoxied) in the back of the magazine to shorten it up. The follower will have to be shortened too.......or order one from whoever handles Mark X parts.
A bowed rail Mauser starts the cartridge moving towards the center line by the shoulder running into the "bow" and richochetting inwards. It should hit the shoulder at the same time it would if it were still 8x57.
THe shoulder diameters and body taper is close enough to work very well.

Toomany ToolsJack,
Thanks a bunch. While I was looking at it I thought that might be the way to do it but wasn't sure.
Thanks again.
