Marlin 336
I am working on a Marlin 336. After completing my repairs and putting the gun back together I am noticing a lot of resistance when trying to pull the lever back to the rear (bolt going forward). I'm guessing it is coming from the carrier rocker.
Anyone ever had this problem/ know the fix? I have worked on a half dozen or so of theses guns with no problems, so to say this surprised and stumped me is an understatement.

Thanks

Well, what repairs did you do, and did the rifle cycle fine before doing the repairs?

I replaced the extractor and cleaned the rifle. Yes, as far as I know the gun functioned fine before it was disassembled. However with a broken extractor I did not cycle the gun but a few times. I did not notice any binding or hanging up at that time.

The collar portion of the extractor may not be fitting tightly to the bolt and is binding with the receiver. Pop the extractor off and tap it lightly to tighten the collar then pop it back on to the bolt.
