ColoradoMattWisner (PME) FN M24 Yugo custom bottom metal on a Mexican Mauser?
I am trying to sell a custom Wisner FN M24 bottom metal in the classifieds. I believe, and I've been told by a couple of folks, that it is compatible with a Mexican intermediate "with just a little work". I assume that one would mainly need to take some metal off of the feed ramp. The inside length is 3.27". I'm guessing some other feed tweeking would likely be required, like most actions require with custom bottom metal. Anything more specific I can tell a prospective buyer? Thanks

J WisnerIf you look in the slot for the magazine spring in the floor plate you will see some numbers, as well as the PME stamp.
What are those numbers and I can tell you what the guard fits.

J WisnerYour pics answered the question.
7 is for the mex/yugo intermediate actions.
0 is for a standard depth
3 is for the 7x57 family
0 is for a 1909 guard bow
Y is for the Yugo action
C is a composite guard, ie the bow is silver soldered to the frame.
3 that was number 3 of that batch of guards, this kept the floor plate matched with rest of the unit.
The Yugo inside front is a touch longer than a Mex and a larger raduis in the corners than the Mex
