J WisnerGoens Flared Model 70 Bolt Stops
The Goens style flared Winchester Model 70 pre 64 smooth and checkered bolt stops are available again
Am heat treating them this weekend so they will be ready to ship next week
# 3070C is the smooth pad
# 3070CC is the checkered pad
They are a direct copy of the ones Dale Goens made years ago, and are for the Winchester M70's made before 1964
Will post this later in the classified forum as well

FYI, I made 69 of the checkered bolt stops and 29 of the smooth ones, so should be good for a while

J WisnerI knew sooner or late someone would bring up this dead horse about the post 64 bolt stops
A. Going thru the Winchester parts list I can come up with 7 right hand bolt stops, depending on the three action lengths and calibers
B. So IF I were to make only the one common bolt stop, ei. 30-06/short belted magnum, that narrows things down.
C. I have only had 1 Right hand post M70 rifle in my shop in the last 15 years. BUT I do have 2 LEFT HAND actions in my shop currently. Sorry that does not help much.
D. I did find the CAD for this part that I created in 2004 when the CODE was created for this part so it could go onto the CNC machines. BUT still need a POST 64 bolt stop in hand to see what needs to be changed. Also need a POST 64 right hand action in hand to see how the part interacts, and what other changes are needed to make it fit the several variations of the POST 64 action
E. The steel for this batch of bolt stops was cut and sat for 3 months before I was able to get them on the VMC and machine them. Am currently in the middle of a run of Winchester mainsprings, roughly 600 of them that each part takes 15 minutes of the VMC's time. I have 134 of them machined right now, easy to do 25 springs a day, and that's when I have to change the finish cutter out. So a simple bit of math work you can see how many days I have to go on machining this batch of mainsprings.
F. The only reason this batch of bolt stops is done now is that I have 2 customers actions in my shop that need them.
G. Bottom line is I only have so much time left in the day after my normal 11 to 13 hour work day.
So the answer to your question is currently there are no plans for bolt stops for the POST 64 M70 rifles

BoxheadFunny as where I sit typing at the moment sipping a martini resides a Gowens 6.5x55 Pre-64 M70 Mannlicher with said bolt release. I was not aware that he created it.
