I have a question, I bought a ZV24 and the bolt Shroud is missing.

If I put on a 3 position saftey, will this matter?

If so where do I find one? Should i make this a big deal with who I bought it from?

What type of 3 position saftey would work?

I like the Dakota three position safety.....others are fond of LaPour's safety.

You do not need a shroud to alter as the new shroud is different.....just order the one you want....or have someone here install one for you.

There's a bit of machining to be done to install a three position safety.....and it won't come cheap.....but you don't need a shroud to start with.....you're just fine as it is!

There is a plunger and spring in the shroud that is typically installed in the new one and you'll have to find one however.....to that extent you may want to ask whoever installs a new safety if they can provide one.

I've installed quite a few Dakotas. No problems do far. I have been very pleased with them.
