kynadogQuestion about Paul Marquart
I am looking at buying a rifle that Paul Marquart did the barrelling for. Does anyone know the history of his company and his reputation in general. All I know is that he was a gunsmith and that he passed away fairly recently.
Thanks.

<JBelk>Paul Marquart was the partner of Bill Atkinson in Atkinson Marquart in ?Prescott, Az? I think. He was a fine 'smith and very interesting to talk to.
He lost a bunch of his digits in a test fire failure many years ago and he would surprise people that ask about it by saying, "It hurt like HELL!!".
Of course most folks was asking *how* it happened. Not *what* he remembered of it!
If you have an A&M barrel you have the best of it's day.

<jim k>I should have mentioned that Bill made all the barrels. Paul did all the other work.
