Jimmy P CoaltrainWeatherby Synthetic stock forearm-barrel contact
What is the prescribed correct contact for the newer Mark V actions? A .270 Winchester in this pattern throws it's first shot from a cold barrel 1.5 inch right and 1 inch low at 100 yards, the next is 1.5 inch right and 1 inch high, then as the barrel heats up shoots a nice 1/2 inch group centered and 1 inch high at 100 were I have zeroed it over the years!! I just started shooting 1-2 shots from a cold barrel recently due to a poor shot on a long deer and noticed this phenomena that I had simply out of faulty reasoning ignored when rezeroing the rifle from year to year! Nice groups but the first 1-2 are not there!

I would try free floating it. I dont think there is a "prescribed correct contact"
